Marge, my model for our foremother Margo, thinks she was a hard working woman with a mind for business. Margo had style and would sew her traditional dresses just a little bit different, making them admired and envied around the village. She had an eye for numbers and knew how to get the best deals for their produce. After her husband’s death, she kept on running the farm by herself. However, even with the help of her children, the heavy work started to take its toll on her body. On her 68th birthday, she makes a decision. She will sell the business. In our line of foremothers, she was the first to retire. She didn’t have a fortune, but it was enough to keep going for a while. Unfortunately, she didn’t enjoy her pension for long. Within a year she passed away.
