Méiyǒu
Méiyǒu means ‘no’ in Chinese. In spite of equal rights in China, girls and women are often still treated less as men. It is hard to say ‘no’ when your words can put you in prison. Do you notice the girl in this painting?

Technique: Three layers of glass glass combined with acryllic paint and paper. On the glass I engraved a figure of a girl.

Méiyǒu betekent ‘nee’ in het Chinees. Ondanks gelijke rechten in China, worden meisjes en vrouwen nog vaak behandeld als minderwaardig. Het is moeilijk om 'nee' te zeggen, als je door je woorden in de gevangenis kunt belanden. Dit kunstwerk is te koop.
